Cousinly love! Kileigh also has a special love for little Brady :)
Proof that kids can fall asleep in any position!
Although Brady still does not love his baths, he does love lotion time.
Ethan still loves his bath time but has never seen soap bubbles like these. I put soap in the sink to do dishes and of course Ethan decides that is the time he has to go potty. I left the sink running and we came back to a sink FULL of soap. Ethan thought it was pretty funny :)
Ethan also continues to love lining up all of his toys. He has started playing with the stuffed animals and his special baby "Charlie" a lot more. He pretends to feed them, change their diapers, and put them to bed. One day he had them all lined up and wanted Brady to join the group. Aren't they sweet?
Brotherly love :)
This month Brady has really started to show off his smiling and cooing skills! Check out all these smiles!
Since the weather has continued to be pretty nice, Mike and Ethan have been having a lot of fun playing in the leaves. Mike made Ethan this huge leaf pile to play in before the city came to take all the leaves away. A bit later when the city did come by and take everyone's leaves, Ethan was very sad and said that they he is sad because the leaves are "never ever coming back ever again".
More fun with Ethan, doesn't he look cute in my glasses?!
Just a funny pic of Brady in his long socks :)
On October 14th we celebrated Brady's baptism! He was an awesome little man throughout the ceremony, especially since he was more than due to eat! He slept right through the church service and was awake and happy for the ceremony. We couldn't have asked for better!
After the baptism, everyone came to our house for lunch and cake. Thanks all who came to help us celebrate!
Just a sweet sleeping pic :)
And now onto some crazy Ethan pics! Such silly, fun boy he is.
For Halloween we again went down to Palmer Park like we did last year and went on the Enchanted Forest walk. The high school kids put on little skits of a bunch of the kids stories. Ethan even got to hug one of the bears from Goldilocks and the Three Bears!
Then he kids got to go down this HUGE slide!
Cousins :)
After the walk and the slide, we went on the hayride to look see some more skits and get some candy!
Ethan and Dad snuggling on the hay ride. These moments are harder and harder to come by as Ethan gets bigger. We take full advantage whenever he wants to snuggle!
Brady still gets plenty of snuggles from Ethan though!
At the end of October we started getting ready at home for Halloween! Peg got us this really cool pumpkin kit where you turn your pumpkin into a spider. So, Ethan and I did that pumpkin and while I was sleeping Mike and Ethan carved a different pumpkin. Ethan even got to wear one of Dad's t-shirts for the occasion!
Painting :)
Tummy time with Brady! He is getting stronger and stronger with each day!
To hold true to Halloween themes, this is a new game that Ethan loves. He looks like a little mummy in this picture but when I was little we called it "worm." He liked to get tied up as tightly as possible and then try to wiggle out of it. He also likes when Mike "traps" him. In that game though he always miraculously finds a "key" that frees him, smart little cookie!
October also, unfortunately, was a month of injuries. If you get queasy from injury pics you might want to beware in a couple of pics from now. The first wasn't so bad, more funny really. My mom and Ethan were having a pillow fight and a zipper from one of the pillows got Ethan in the head. You can see a perfect impression of the zipper on Ethan's forehead!
The second injury of the month happened one night when Ethan decided it was a good idea to run around the basement with a blanket over his head. Before Mike and I realized what he was doing he tripped over the blanket and hit his face on his recliner. His teeth bit most of the way through his lip and the entire bottom of his mouth filled up with blood. We luckily were able to make it stop bleeding pretty quickly but the swelling continued for a couple of days, ouch!
Since his injury was the night before Halloween, he still had his fat lip for Halloween day! At least he was in good spirits.
Shaking his booty getting ready for Halloween!
That night, Courtney, Kileigh, and my mom all came over for dinner and then we all got bundled up and headed out for trick or treating! Ethan decided that he and Brady were going to both be monsters this year! The costumes turned out to be pretty darn cute for little monsters!
And they're off!! After getting outside it didn't take long for the kids to get into the motions of trick or treating! Ethan quickly took monster form and tried to scare away the bigger, scarier kids by roaring at them :)
It didn't take long all bundled up against me in the front pack and Brady was out!
Still going strong!
After about an hour or so, Ethan decided he was too tired and hung out in the stroller for awhile before round two of trick or treating.
Weight: 11 lbs 11 oz (36th percentile)
Length: 23 inches (49th percentile)
Looks like we might have a peanut this time around! The doctor says he is right on track - he is smiling, cooing, responding to voices, and starting to follow motion. Go Brady! He also got 3 shots at this appointment. Poor baby held true to being a "sensitive" baby, he had a big huge lump from one of the shots and cried every time he moved his poor little leg. Lots of tylenol and love for this little one!
We also had to say goodbye to Mike's grandpa this month. We will continue to hold him in our hearts and think of him often, especially while spending time as a family out at the cottage named in his honor: Digger's Getaway! R.I.P. Digger.
