Get ready for a long posting! We were pretty busy during this month and have lots of fun to cover. Perhaps the most exciting thing that happened in October was my brother, Aaron, moving back to Wisconsin. The weekend after his arrival we had a surprise welcome back party for him. Before he came, Ethan helped us blow up some balloons. He was working pretty hard to blow up those already tied balloons!

Another thing we had lots of fun doing was going to what my mom calls "the spot." I think I talked about it last month, but it is a nature walk near our house where my mom always finds new creatures and sceneries to take pictures of. Our family loves just strolling around and letting Ethan run free. This next pic is just one from the many trips we took there this month.
Another super fun activity both at home and at the cabin is playing in the leaves. Even the dogs from across the street took part in the fun!
We even took a trip to the zoo on one of the nice fall days. We headed up with Lainey and Mike's mom, Peg. The kids are all starting to play more like friends and less like enemies now, which is super nice!

Running free in the big open field, chasing butterflies of course!Toward the end of October we went to a pumpkin party being held at Palmer Park with Lainey and Peg. The kids listened to a story and then made a spider our of a marshmallow and pretzels, yum!
Another big moment this month, sleeping in a toddler bed! Now he loves going to sleep and will even put himself to bed without being asked. We have only had one falling out of bed incident so far and when I went to go check if he was ok I was told, "I fine mama," with a wave of the arm. What a big boy he is becoming!
Another Halloween activity was going to the Enchanted Forest and hayride at Palmer Park. We went with my mom, Courtney, and Kileigh. Although the adults all thought it was a little lame, the kids loved it! Ethan even got to hug Pooh, Tigger, and the daddy bear from the three bears and both kids were chosen to participate in the tea party with the princesses!
As a side note, one of Ethan's favorite people right now is the lady that cleans our house for us, Denise. He has lots of pretty serious phone conversations with her. Here is just one.

1. He can count to 13 although he prefers to count 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
2. He knows the letters A, C, E, H, M, O, P, R, S, T all by sight.
3. He calls zippers zoom zooms
4. His favorite foods are noodles, cheese, pizza, yogurt, toast, cereal, and oranges.
5. If we get hurt he pats us and says "You fine"
6. He loves to kiss, hug, and snuggle
7. His favorite toons are Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, and Wheel of Fortune. (In each show he knows every character, perhaps the funniest is that he says rocket like farfot)
